Congratulations to Qing Guan, PhD Candidate in the ANU School of Demography, who has been awarded the 2017 W.D. Borrie Prize by the Australian Population Association for the best postgraduate student paper on a population-related topic.
Qing won the prize in the PhD category with her paper "Measuring the Spatial Integration of the Chinese-born population in Australia, 1981-2016". This paper has also been accepted for presentation during both the 2018 Australian Population Association Conference in Darwin and the 4th Asian Population Association Conference in Shanghai this July.
The Australian Population Association sponsors the competitive W.D. Borrie Prize each year to promote the study of population-related issues in all academic disciplines. The prize is named for Professor W.D. Borrie (1913-2000), Australia's first full-time academic researcher in demography.
